


The RYA Yachtmaster course is ideal for candidates preparing for the Coastal Skipper practical course and Yachtmaster Offshore® exam. Some revision of the Day Skipper shorebased course is included, plus more advanced skills in offshore and coastal navigation by day and night, pilotage and meteorology.
Course Aim: To enable candidates to understand the principles of navigating for coastal and offshore passages.
Duration: The course is conducted over 40 hours plus 3 Assessment papers.
Experience: Knowledge and the ability to navigate to a standard equivalent to the Day Skipper shorebased course and some practical experience is recommended
Minimum Age: There is no minimum age to take the course and exam, however Operator certificates cannot be issued until the candidate is 16 years old.
