



In a medical emergency a little first aid knowledge and immediate action can save lives, especially when at sea away from immediate professional assistance.
The RYA and HSE First Aid courses fulfils the requirements for professional skippers of small craft working within 60 miles of a safe haven. The RYA course is recommended by the MCA and HSE, and satisfies the requirements of some categories of commercial work afloat, including Boatmasters. In addition to basic First aid, resuscitation techniques and a knowledge of the treatment for hypothermia are covered.
Course Aim: The course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers.
Duration: The course is conducted over 1 day.
Experience: No previous experience is necessary.
Minimum Age: There is no minimum age to take the course.
