1. All customers must make Devon Powerboating aware of any health problems, from
which they suffer before an event commences.
2.We reserve the right to cancel “on water” courses within 12 Hrs due to adverse
weather conditions.
3. We reserve the right to cancel “on water” courses within 12 Hrs due to vessel
unavailability.
4. Where requested we will require Next Of Kin details to be completed prior to the
start of any activity.
5. Lifejackets will be supplied, and must be correctly worn, for all school boat
activities.
6. Foul weather protective clothing is only provided for RYA Training courses. For
all other activities it is your responsibility to bring them.
7. Refund of any deposit will only be made if more than 28 days notice of cancellation
is given. When less than 28 days notice of cancellation is given a Voucher to the
value of 30% of deposit paid will be issued.
8. If clients are more than 2 Hours late without informing us, we reserve the right
to cancel the event with no refund payable.
9. Where we cancel an event in advance of it starting due to weather or unservicability,
either a full refund will be given or alternative dates agreed. Incurred additional
costs will not be paid.
10. Should the vessel become unserviceable once a course has commenced, Devon Powerboating
shall negotiate with students a suitable and acceptable alternative solution. However
Devon Powerboating will not be liable for any additional expenses incurred. (i.e.
additional hotel and personal fuel costs).
11. With the exception of shorebased courses where full payment is required, a 50%
refundable deposit (as outlined in para 7 above) will be required at the time of
booking with the balance paid on commencement of the event.
12. Credit and debit cards are accepted through Paypal, by telephone, fax or through
an emailed invoice. No card details will be retained by the company. Cheques should
be made payable to Devon Powerboating and crossed A/C Payee.
13. Devon Powerboating reserves the right to refuse a booking, or to ask an individual,
or a group to leave a course. In such circumstances a refund will be offered only
at the discretion of the director.
14. Charges include full use of equipment for the booked activities, tuition by qualified
instructors, personal and group safety equipment, access to classroom, relevant teaching
materials, assessments for awards and a certificate as appropriate. Protective wet
weather clothing will be provided for RYA Courses only. Customers will be required
to provide appropriate footwear - wellingtons or trainers, and clothing to match
the weather conditions.
15. Devon Powerboating will not be responsible, or liable in any way whatsoever,
or to any person whatsoever in respect of:
- Any damage or loss of property brought onto, or left upon either the premises or
craft, either by the hirer or any other person.
- Any loss due to breakdown of machinery, failure of electrical supply, fire or flood,
government restriction that may cause the event to be interrupted or cancelled.
16. Devon Powerboating is fully committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment.
All activities are risk assessed to determine the required level of supervision,
safety arrangements, and safety equipment to ensure that the highest health and safety
standards are maintained. However, given the very nature of the adventurous environment
in which powerboating activities take place and the unpredictable movement of the
sea, it is always possible that minor slips and scratches may occur.
Devon Powerboating also complies where ever possible with the Terms of Business laid
down by the British Marine Federation and approved by the RYA.
